Rakesh Tikait is one of the Famous Farmer Leaders of India, He is the Son of India’s well-known farmer Leader, Chaudhary Mahendra Singh Tikait. Currently, Rakesh Tikait is the National Spokesperson of the Farmer’s Organisation “Bhartiya Kisan Union” (BKU) while his Brother Naresh Tikait is the National President of the organization. After the death of his father in 2011, Rakesh took the charge of the BKU and started his fight for farmers. Currently, he is news for leading the protest against three new farm laws introduced by the government, which Tikait refers as “Kala Kanoon or Black Law”

Early Life of Rakesh Tikait
Rakesh Tikait was Born in a Village named Sisauli, (Dist.Muzaffarnagar) , Uttar Pradesh. This Village is already famous for various farms protest as Chaudhary Mahendra Singh Tikait used to make his plans and strategy of protest while living in this village.
Rakesh was Good at studies and was selected as a sub-inspector in Delhi Police in 1985 but he left his job in 1993, later he joined Bhartiya Kisan Union to Fight the cause of farmers. while fighting for the cause of farmers Rakesh went to jail more than 40 times till now.

Personal Life of Rakesh Tikait.
After the death of his father Mahendra Singh Tikait , His elder son Naresh was given the responsibility of Baliyan Khap and BKU , but most of the time rakesh has been more active in making strategy and protests.
Rakesh got married to Sunita Devi , who belongs from Baghpat and have 1 Daugher and 2 Sons , Many times his wife is also seen active in protests and movements .

Rakesh has also fought Assembly election in 2007 from khatauli seat of Muzaffarnagar and in 2014 he fought General election from Amroha seat , but both the times he lost the election
